Scaler

Responsibilities

• Scale wood products, recovered fiber, raw materials, and paper trucks entering the facility
• Maintain access control points and manage the flow of traffic into the mill
• Enforce material specifications and ensure all loads and drivers adhere to safety standards
• Serve as the primary point of contact for truck drivers, vendors, and contractors with professionalism
• Maintain the Scaler exception log report and provide timely communication to the Fiber Supply Team
• Manage truck turnaround time and communicate mill operations that may affect efficiency
• Perform housekeeping functions around the scalehouse and wear all required PPE
• Adhere to all International Paper safety principles to maintain a safe work environment

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Valid driver's license
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn software applications
• Ability to work in adverse weather conditions including rain, heat, cold, and dust
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with truck scales
• Previous experience in customer service
• Knowledge of fiber specifications and species
