SCA Analytic Linguist (Spanish)

Responsibilities

• Monitor live communications and provide immediate verbal and written summaries in English.
• Transcribe audio, video, and written communications from Spanish to English.
• Perform consecutive or simultaneous interpretation as required for investigations.
• Validate the accuracy of translations and transcriptions through quality control reviews.
• Provide concise and accurate synopses of intercepted communications to law enforcement officers.
• Assist in the preparation of evidence and investigation summaries for legal proceedings.
• Serve as a fact witness in federal or state court when subpoenaed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• U.S. citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident with legal work status.
• Native fluency in Spanish and demonstrated proficiency in English.
• Minimum of one year of professional translation experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
• Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute (WPM).
• Ability to understand and translate slang and colloquial expressions accurately.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as a linguist supporting defense, intelligence, or law enforcement agencies.
• Existing federal law enforcement clearance.
• Familiarity with JSI VoiceBox or Pen-Link Lincoln Intercept Systems.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and short-notice assignments.
