SCA Analytic Linguist

Responsibilities

• Monitor live communications and provide immediate verbal and written summaries in English
• Transcribe audio, video, and written communications between Spanish and English
• Perform consecutive or simultaneous interpretation as required
• Validate the accuracy of translations and transcriptions through quality control reviews
• Provide concise and accurate synopses of intercepted communications to law enforcement officers
• Assist in the preparation of evidence and investigation summaries for legal proceedings
• Serve as a fact witness in federal or state court when subpoenaed

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• U.S. citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident
• Native fluency in Spanish and proficiency in English
• Minimum of one year of translation experience
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance
• Typing speed of at least 40 WPM
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to understand and translate slang and colloquial expressions

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as a linguist supporting defense, intelligence, or law enforcement agencies
• Existing federal law enforcement clearance
• Familiarity with JSI VoiceBox or Pen-Link Lincoln Intercept Systems
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends, on short notice
