Satellite Communications (SATCOM) Senior Technician

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and operate fixed and deployable antenna systems
• Install, configure, and maintain RF components including modems, frequency converters, and high-powered amplifiers
• Perform communications system alignments using precision test equipment
• Diagnose antenna drive system components and failures
• Configure and operate test equipment such as signal analyzers, generators, oscilloscopes, and satellite link emulators
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to support technical operations
• Provide technical expertise for the setup, operation, maintenance, and transport of advanced communications systems

Requirements

• Associate of Science in a STEM field
• 4+ years of experience with setting up and maintaining deployable and fixed antenna systems and associated RF equipment
• Technical experience with RF, satellite communication systems, and signal analysis
• Active TS/SCI clearance
• Ability to lift 50 lbs above the head repeatedly

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in a STEM field
• Experience conducting site surveys to verify technical and environmental feasibility for satellite installations
• Experience training personnel on antenna systems and RF components
• Military mobility and commercial logistics experience
• Basic understanding of network fundamentals and IP-based systems
• Familiarity with assembly/disassembly of shelter systems (inflatable tents, modular structures, etc.)
• Knowledge of fixed and deployable AC power generation and distribution
• Fork/Boom Lift operator certification
