SATCOM Technician

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, install, maintain, and repair RF equipment used in large-scale satellite downlink and uplink operations
• Perform antenna maintenance, including repairing, cleaning, and servicing antenna tracking systems
• Use RF test equipment such as multi-meters, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and network analyzers to troubleshoot transmission equipment
• Monitor and control systems to trend data and perform periodic inspections of Earth Station equipment
• Conduct periodic cleaning and repair of antennas, transmitters, frequency converters, and fiber optic equipment
• Utilize hand and power tools to complete various earth station equipment projects and repairs

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2-7 years of RF-related work experience
• Valid DOT motor vehicle license to operate aerial lifts
• Ability to climb ladders unassisted and work at heights up to 65 feet
• Ability to lift and move up to 75 lbs
• Willingness to work rotational shifts, including holidays and weekends, in a 24x7x365 environment
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and on uneven surfaces

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate of Applied Sciences (AAS) degree in RF Technologies or Satellite Communications
• Completion of a basic electronics course from a military or accredited technical school
• Familiarity with IP Networking and Security protocols
• Experience with data gathering tools such as Grafana or Splunk
• Proficiency in computer programming (Python, JavaScript, or PHP)
• Experience with GIS software and technical drawing tools like Visio or CAD
