SATCOM Requirements System Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop, refine, and manage system and subsystem requirements to ensure they are clear, traceable, and verifiable
• Support Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) activities to assist with the development and maintenance of technical baselines
• Analyze system requirements and participate in verification activities, including the review of TRDs and ICDs
• Use tools such as DOORS to identify and close requirements gaps in collaboration with government and contractor teams
• Lead or support technical working groups by preparing materials, documenting minutes, and tracking action items
• Assist in assessing impacts to the system technical baseline and identifying integration considerations
• Provide technical input for briefings directed to USSF program leadership
• Participate in risk, issue, and dependency management activities to propose technical solutions

Requirements

• Ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science, or a related technical field
• 3-5 years of experience in systems engineering or requirements management
• Experience with requirements specification, analysis, and verification
• Familiarity with requirements traceability tools such as DOORS
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in a technical discipline
• INCOSE ASEP/CSEP/ESEP certification or MBSE certification (OCSMP)
• Experience with Agile development tools, Jira, or Confluence
• Knowledge of MILSATCOM systems (AEHF, EPS, WGS, Tactical SATCOM, COMSATCOM)
• Background working with DoD or military customers
• Familiarity with space and ground systems, including satellite communications and terminals
