Sanitation Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Supervise plant sanitation programs and activities to ensure high-quality food safety standards and compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Inspect products and equipment for conformity to sanitation laws and plant standards.
• Lead the cleaning of equipment and work areas following COP/CIP/SIP schedules.
• Implement and revise plant master sanitation schedules in accordance with company policies and regulations.
• Monitor HACCP compliance and manage the Environmental Monitoring Program, including scheduled environmental swabs.
• Perform inspections of plant premises for unsanitary conditions and develop corrective action plans.
• Supervise and instruct production team members in sanitary and pest-control procedures.
• Audit and maintain all sanitation and pest control records.
• Support internal and external audits and Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a science-based area (e.g., Microbiology, Food Science, Dairy Science) preferred, or a minimum of 2 years of high-level plant-based laboratory experience.
• Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
• Experience leading and following food quality and safety policies and procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and computer-based applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.
• Strong ability to lead, coach, and motivate a team of employees.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SAP.
• Understanding of cost containment and budgetary principles.
