About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide direction and leadership in sanitation, plant hygiene, and pest control to ensure food safety.
- Drive the strategy, development, and sustainability of the cleaning and sanitation program.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of contractors and associates to enable reliable product delivery.
- Act as a technical expert for implementing new technologies and processes to reduce microbiological risk.
- Lead root cause analysis for plant hygiene issues and incidents.
- Manage the Master Sanitation Schedule, including governance and auditing.
- Serve as an active member of the site’s Food Safety/HACCP team.
- Support plant profitability by developing efficient cleaning methods and identifying operational savings.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Quality-related Sciences (Engineering, Applied Sciences, or Food Science preferred).
- 5-8 years of experience driving robust sanitation programs in CPG manufacturing.
- 3 years of line management experience with a demonstrated ability to lead teams.
- Working knowledge of Food and Drug Laws and OSHA requirements.
- Strong understanding of microbiological organisms and their impact on sanitary design.
- Proficiency in written and verbal communication.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in food or pharmaceutical manufacturing industries.
- Familiarity with SDS, PPE, chemical, and safety programs.
- Knowledge of allergen management, chemical cleaning, and cleaning validation.
