Sanctions Specialist

Responsibilities

• Conduct analysis and due diligence on Sanctions alerts to ensure compliance with global laws and internal governance.
• Review escalated cases to confirm True Matches in line with regulations and policy accurately and in a timely manner.
• Manage and provide guidance on complex sanctions investigations, ensuring appropriate escalation routes and stakeholder involvement.
• Perform due diligence on Payment Screening alerts to determine appropriate treatment and next steps for payments.
• Identify opportunities to drive efficiencies in the alert management process and provide feedback for implementation.
• Advise and influence decision-making regarding sanctions risk and contribute to policy development.

Requirements

• Proven ability to interpret and apply sanctions laws and regulations, including OFAC, OFSI, EU, and UN.
• Experience analyzing SWIFT MT/MX messages and synthesizing transaction intelligence.
• Strong expertise in sanctions alert advisory and the ability to support defensible, regulatory-compliant conclusions.
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to communicate complex or sensitive information to stakeholders and auditors.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience performing payment or customer screening using FircoSoft, OWS, or similar systems.
• Professional background specifically within sanctions or financial crime compliance.
• Demonstrated ability to drive process efficiency and effectiveness improvements.
