About the role
Responsibilities
- Collect water samples from client sites in accordance with specific requirements and approved methodologies
- Perform on-site field analyses and maintain sampling equipment
- Optimize turnaround times for samples while maintaining high-quality sampling protocols
- Maintain client relations, including scheduling and managing sampling times
- Ensure sampling vehicles and equipment are kept clean, tidy, and well-maintained
- Prioritize samples upon arrival at the laboratory and assist with sorting and delivery
- Perform data entry in LIMS and prepare sample bottles
- Maintain, clean, and calibrate equipment used for conducting analyses
Requirements
- Relevant experience in the environmental industry
- Valid Driver’s License with confidence in automatic vehicle driving
- Ability to swim and confidence working around water
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Proven customer service and communication skills (written and oral)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a close-knit team
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and spend long periods driving
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of the operation of small water supplies and treatment plants
