Sample Receiving Technician

Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect samples from clients and field personnel for proper containers, temperatures, and preservatives
• Accurately log sample information into the laboratory LIMS system
• Transport samples to appropriate storage locations and manage the disposal of expired samples
• Ensure strict compliance with SOPs, QA manuals, and client service protocols
• Maintain professional conduct with both internal staff and external clients

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required (B.S. in Chemistry or a related field preferred)
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately transcribe chain of custody information
• Proficient data entry and typing skills
• Familiarity with chemical symbols and general scientific terminology
• Basic knowledge of EPA methodologies
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a consistent basis and stand for intervals of up to 8 hours
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
