Sample Receiving Technician

Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect samples from clients and field personnel for proper containers, temperatures, and preservatives
• Accurately log samples into the laboratory LIMS system
• Transport samples to appropriate storage locations and manage the disposal of expired samples
• Ensure strict compliance with SOPs, QA manuals, and Client Service Manuals
• Maintain professional conduct with both ALS staff and clients

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required (B.S. in Chemistry or a related field preferred)
• Strong data entry and typing skills with high attention to detail
• Familiarity with chemical symbols and general scientific terminology
• Basic knowledge of EPA methodologies
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a consistent basis
• Ability to stand for intervals of up to 8 hours

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in an administrative or technical role within a laboratory setting
• Proven ability to learn new scientific concepts and software systems quickly
