Sample Processing Associate

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day specimen processing operations including accessioning, processing, and sample racking
• Utilize laboratory automation and maintain equipment through regular cleaning and maintenance
• Comply with Quality Management System policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and safety regulations
• Maintain accurate documentation following Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
• Handle and dispose of specimens following standard precautions and safety protocols
• Support operational initiatives such as quality improvements and department audits

Requirements

• High School Degree or GED
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Proficiency with computers, including Internet navigation, email, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds for approximately 25% of a typical working day
• Ability to work a 2nd shift schedule (Tuesday - Friday, 2:00 PM - 11:30 PM)
• Ability to tolerate handling of bodily fluids and solids (e.g., blood, urine, and feces)

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, or a related field
• Previous experience in a laboratory environment involving sample integrity and handling
• Knowledge of CAP, GLP, GDP, CLIA, or HIPAA regulations
• Experience troubleshooting automation and performing instrument maintenance
• Experience with Lean methodologies (Kaizen, Kanban, etc.)
