About the role
Responsibilities
- Independently prepare client samples for analysis through crushing, sieving, splitting, and drying processes
- Load and unload drying ovens and maintain accurate production logs
- Perform general cleaning duties to maintain laboratory cleanliness
- Inspect equipment and report necessary adjustments to senior staff
- Handle compositing, screen metallics, and special handling requests
- Follow established safety regulations and ALS health and safety policies
- Assist in training or mentoring new employees on basic preparation procedures
Requirements
- Minimum 6 months of work experience in a commercial minerals laboratory or minerals sample preparation
- Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for repetitive tasks
- Basic computer skills and English communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs and stand for long periods of time
- Ability to work in a hot and dusty environment
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, afternoons, graveyards, and weekends
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift license or certification
- Previous experience driving a forklift
