Sample Preparation Technician

Responsibilities

• Independently weigh prepared pulp for the analysis of geological samples using analytical balances
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment following established safety rules and ALS best practices
• Inspect prepared pulp samples for homogeneity and report quality concerns or equipment problems to management
• Use Webview software to locate, transport, and update the disposition of client samples
• Wash labware using correct procedures to prevent cross-contamination
• Safely dispose of sample solution waste according to lab protocols
• Recommend ideas for safety, quality, or productivity improvements

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 months of work experience in a production-oriented environment
• Manual dexterity to perform repetitive tasks and good hand-eye coordination
• Basic computer skills for using software applications
• Ability to lift up to 20lbs
• Ability to sit or stand at a computer for up to 7.5 hours
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
