Sample Preparation Technician

About the role
Responsibilities
- Organize client samples, verify shipping notices, and independently scan sample weights
- Perform special preparation procedures including mixing, metal substance sieving, and special request processing
- Conduct quality control checks on rejects and pulp
- Assist in training and tutoring new employees on basic procedures
- Inspect equipment and report necessary adjustments to senior personnel
- Apply products and methods correctly according to established protocols
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 months of experience in a commercial mineral laboratory
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (with assistance/equipment for heavier loads)
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods in a potentially dusty and hot environment
- Strong manual dexterity and communication skills
- Familiarity with laboratory and sample preparation safety rules
- Ability to maintain a clean-shaven appearance to ensure proper fit of personal protective equipment (dust masks, safety glasses, etc.)
- Ability to meet regular production targets per shift
