Sample Preparation Technician

Responsibilities

• Organize client samples, verify shipping notices, and independently scan sample weights
• Perform special preparation procedures including mixing, metal substance sieving, and special request processing
• Conduct quality control checks on rejects and pulp
• Assist in training and tutoring new employees on basic procedures
• Inspect equipment and report necessary adjustments to senior personnel
• Apply products and methods correctly according to established protocols

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 months of experience in a commercial mineral laboratory
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (with assistance/equipment for heavier loads)
• Ability to stand or sit for long periods in a potentially dusty and hot environment
• Strong manual dexterity and communication skills
• Familiarity with laboratory and sample preparation safety rules
• Ability to maintain a clean-shaven appearance to ensure proper fit of personal protective equipment (dust masks, safety glasses, etc.)
• Ability to meet regular production targets per shift
