About the role

Responsibilities

  • Prepare client samples for analysis through crushing, sieving, splitting, and ringing
  • Load and unload drying ovens under direct supervision
  • Maintain accurate production logs and perform general cleaning to ensure lab cleanliness
  • Handle compositing, screen metallics, and special handling requests
  • Inspect equipment and report necessary adjustments to senior staff
  • Comply with all established safety regulations and ALS health and safety policies

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 months of work experience in a commercial minerals laboratory or minerals sample preparation
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for repetitive tasks
  • Basic English communication skills (written and verbal) and alphanumeric comprehension
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs and work in hot, dusty environments
  • Ability to stand or sit for long periods and work various shifts, including days, afternoons, graveyards, and weekends
  • Must be cleanly-shaven to wear required protective equipment
