Sample Management Technician

Responsibilities

• Handle specimen receipt, verification, accessioning, and storage for pre-clinical and clinical samples
• Document all activities and maintain sample management tracking logs in accordance with SOPs and protocols
• Monitor sample storage conditions, including freezer temperatures and locations
• Prepare labels using automated and manual systems and perform freezer inventory/cycle counts
• Process sample transfer/return requests and consolidate samples for shipment
• Perform general laboratory support including supply inventory and equipment maintenance
• Adhere to all laboratory safety policies and use required personal protective equipment (PPE)

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a regulated laboratory or Clinical Research Organization (CRO)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Experience using sample tracking software
• Ability to work in a cold environment for up to 50% of the time
• Ability to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends and on-call rotations

Preferred Qualifications

• Training and experience with Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) techniques
• Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) or Good Clinical Laboratory Practice (GCLP)
