Sample Management Technician II

Responsibilities

• Manage specimen handling, including receipt, verification, accessioning, aliquoting, and storage of clinical and pre-clinical samples
• Perform preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment such as plate washers and plate readers
• Aliquot qualification and customer samples with high precision and accuracy according to documented processes
• Maintain sample management tracking logs and perform freezer inventory/cycle counts
• Document all activities and observations in accordance with GLP/GCLP, SOPs, and protocols
• Monitor proper storage conditions, including freezer temperatures, and participate in on-call monitoring rotations
• Prepare labels using automated and manual systems and process sample transfer/return requests
• Adhere to all laboratory safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Biology or a related field (High School diploma with additional regulated lab experience may be substituted)
• Minimum of one year of experience in a regulated laboratory or Clinical Research Organization (CRO)
• Hands-on experience with Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) techniques
• High precision pipetting skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications

• Training and experience with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) or Good Clinical Laboratory Practice (GCLP)
