About the role
Responsibilities
- Prepare materials and demonstrate understanding of fabric nuances
- Ready machines by changing needles, threads, and attachments
- Inspect materials for flaws to ensure high quality
- Guide materials under various sewing machines with precision stitching
- Adjust machine performance and troubleshoot malfunctions
- Perform hand sewing and ironing as necessary
- Conduct preventive maintenance on equipment
- Inspect finished products for quality assurance
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of single-needle machine operation experience in manufacturing
- Ability to sew closed backs, collars, French seams, buttonholes, and assemble plackets
- Basic measuring skills and ability to interpret design specification sheets
- High degree of manual dexterity and close visual attention
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods and lift up to 25 lbs
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in high-end luxury clothing production
