Sales Tax Accountant I

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly sales tax returns and remit tax to appropriate state Revenue Departments
• Contact state sales tax agencies to resolve policy questions for customers and internal departments
• Adjust customer invoices for sales tax and manage rebilling and account clearing
• Maintain and organize customer sales tax exemption certificates
• Support managers and team leads in preparing information for sales tax audits
• Manage and categorize requests received in the Sales Tax Inbox
• Assist with monthly metrics reporting and selected return reviews

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration preferred (or equivalent work experience)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint)
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational and customer service abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior knowledge of general accounting duties
• Experience using SAP software
