About the role
Responsibilities
- Execute the go-to-market strategy for Japan, including direct sales and channel-driven approaches
- Build, manage, and mentor the Japan sales team
- Design and scale a robust channel partner program in Japan
- Act as a brand ambassador and build strategic relationships with ecosystem players
- Partner with marketing teams to launch high-impact campaigns
- Provide strategic market feedback to product and operations teams
- Report on sales performance, pipeline, and partner impact using data-driven decision making
Requirements
- Proven experience leading high-performing sales teams in Japan
- Experience executing strategic go-to-market plans cross-functionally
- Proven experience developing and scaling channel/indirect sales programs in Japan
- Deep understanding of the Japanese SME and startup landscape
- Hands-on ownership mindset with ability to prospect and close deals
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Native-level fluency in Japanese
- Business-level proficiency in English
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a fast-growing fintech, SaaS, or payments company
- Track record of launching or expanding a business into a new market or vertical
