Sales Engineer/Estimator

Responsibilities

• Respond to Requests for Quotations (RFQs) by engaging with customers
• Estimate materials, labor, components, and outside services for comprehensive quotes
• Orchestrate projects by collaborating with Purchasing, Fabrication, Assembly, and Installation departments
• Ensure adherence to project specifications regarding quality, cost-efficiency, and timeliness
• Scrutinize subcontractor and vendor quotes
• Perform conceptual estimating and quantity take-offs

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience estimating industrial machinery in a manufacturing setting
• Expertise in contract types including Lump Sum, Time and Materials, and Fixed Fee/Cost Reimbursable
• Ability to analyze proposals, blueprints, and specifications to discern labor and material needs
• Proficiency in developing Bills of Materials for Skids, Piping, Storage Tanks, Vessels, and Ducting
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Project, Word, and Excel
• Strong project management and mathematical acumen
• Ability to bid on turnkey projects involving multiple disciplines like Pipefitter, Millwright, Welder, and Fabricator

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Experience estimating equipment such as Plating Lines, Washer Systems, Tanks, Piping, Water Treatment Systems, or Pump and Filtration Skids
• Knowledge of various fabrication methods
