Sales Development Representative

Responsibilities

• Own inbound RFQs and quoting end-to-end, ensuring fast and accurate delivery
• Estimate jobs, run nests, validate scrap, and price work to create actionable customer quotes
• Translate customer drawings, specifications, and purchase orders into complete production jobs
• Push orders into production with precise attention to alloy, temper, thickness, tolerances, and certification requirements
• Coordinate with scheduling, production, quality, and shipping to ensure committed dates are met
• Manage customer relationships through proactive email, phone, and portal communication
• Capture all quote data, wins, and losses within the CRM to maintain data integrity
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in specs, POs, or requirements before they impact production

Requirements

• Experience in inside sales, quoting, estimating, or customer service within metals, machine shops, or manufacturing environments
• Technical fluency in reading mechanical drawings and understanding alloys, tempers, and tolerances
• Strong numerical skills and high attention to detail for pricing and order accuracy
• Proficiency with AI tools, spreadsheets, and modern software stacks
• Ability to work on-site in Detroit and manage high volumes of quotes and orders simultaneously
• High agency and a commitment to process improvement and customer obsession

Preferred Qualifications

• Background quoting aluminum or aerospace and defense components
• Experience with nesting, quoting, or estimating tools
• Knowledge of GD&T and aerospace standards such as AS9100, DFARS, AMS, or ASTM
• Forklift or overhead crane certification
