About the role
Responsibilities
- Drive new business acquisition by identifying and engaging accounts with zero current business
- Develop and execute territory strategies to generate leads, qualify prospects, and convert opportunities
- Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact and cold calling to contract close
- Analyze market trends and competitive activity to develop effective sales strategies and forecasts
- Collaborate with internal teams including Marketing, Medical Affairs, and Finance to deliver a cohesive customer experience
- Manage and train third-party distributor sales forces to effectively represent Abbott products
- Utilize CRM and analytical tools to document the sales process and manage the territory pipeline
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- 4+ years of proven success in relevant sales experience
- Track record of success with competitive conversions, from lead generation to close
- Demonstrated experience as an individual contributor, including complex selling and execution
- Must reside within the assigned territory (Greater Philadelphia or Lehigh Valley area preferred)
- Willingness to travel within the territory up to 50% (including overnight travel)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare, or life sciences
- Medical sales experience, ideally within the diagnostics industry
- Understanding of laboratory and point-of-care settings, health system operations, and health economics
- Experience working with distribution partners
- Strong financial acumen and ability to analyze healthcare market data
- Skilled negotiator with a track record of securing complex agreements
