About the role

Responsibilities

  • Drive new business acquisition by identifying and engaging accounts with zero current business
  • Develop and execute territory strategies to generate leads, qualify prospects, and convert opportunities
  • Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact and cold calling to contract close
  • Analyze market trends and competitive activity to develop effective sales strategies and forecasts
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Marketing, Medical Affairs, and Finance to deliver a cohesive customer experience
  • Manage and train third-party distributor sales forces to effectively represent Abbott products
  • Utilize CRM and analytical tools to document the sales process and manage the territory pipeline

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 4+ years of proven success in relevant sales experience
  • Track record of success with competitive conversions, from lead generation to close
  • Demonstrated experience as an individual contributor, including complex selling and execution
  • Must reside within the assigned territory (Greater Philadelphia or Lehigh Valley area preferred)
  • Willingness to travel within the territory up to 50% (including overnight travel)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare, or life sciences
  • Medical sales experience, ideally within the diagnostics industry
  • Understanding of laboratory and point-of-care settings, health system operations, and health economics
  • Experience working with distribution partners
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to analyze healthcare market data
  • Skilled negotiator with a track record of securing complex agreements
