Sales Development Engineer

Responsibilities

• Qualify inbound marketing and sales leads using proven strategies to build a robust sales funnel
• Partner with Field Sales Engineers to initiate conversations and convert leads into new accounts
• Develop deep technical command of the Cognex product portfolio through hands-on training
• Research and contact key target accounts based on discovered market information
• Set priorities and advance sales opportunities in collaboration with sales team leaders
• Manage project-creation activities and lead tracking within the CRM database
• Provide feedback to improve marketing and sales effectiveness and efficiency

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering track (e.g., Computer Science, Electrical Engineering)
• Background in engineering or manufacturing with strong attention to detail
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for engaging customers in person and over the phone
• Results-oriented and proactive mentality to meet sales goals

Preferred Qualifications

• Customer-facing experience within a highly technical hardware or software engineering company
• Experience working within a manufacturing environment
