About the role
Responsibilities
- Support daily store operations, including cleaning, processing merchandise, and setting up visually appealing displays
- Provide comprehensive donor support by receiving donations, unloading items, and issuing receipts
- Deliver exceptional customer service through greetings, floor navigation, and accurate point-of-sale transactions
- Assist with restocking shelves, maintaining organized sales floors and fitting rooms, and following opening/closing procedures
- Support strategic initiatives such as the Discovery Rewards loyalty program and promotional events
- Communicate the mission of the American Cancer Society to customers and donors
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 2 years of prior retail or service experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Teams, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to learn and utilize retail software and Point of Sale (POS) systems
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced retail environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Some college coursework in business, mathematics, or economics
- Previous leadership experience (e.g., key holder or team lead)
- Valid driver’s license
