Sales Application Engineer

Responsibilities

• Quote and co-design custom machinery, including complete production lines, modules, and modifications, to meet specific client requirements.
• Develop proposal layouts using 2D AutoCAD or 3D SolidWorks and present technical solutions to customers.
• Estimate costs for complete machine solutions, including raw materials, components, labor, engineering, and shipping.
• Collaborate with Sales, Technical Support, Manufacturing, and Vendors to determine product requirements and specifications.
• Review customer specifications and manage technical documentation within Salesforce.com and Epicor ERP systems.
• Identify scope creep and maintain project baselines while tracking changes to specifications and quotes.
• Support the team during factory acceptance tests and attend trade shows to build customer relationships.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of related experience in engineering or technical sales.
• Minimum 2-year technical degree from an accredited college or university.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or SolidWorks for developing technical drawings and layouts.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• Proven experience in machine design and understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of web handling and converting equipment or process lines.
• Experience with Epicor ERP system.
• Ability to size power transmission, bearings, and structural components.
• Experience working directly in customer-facing roles.
• Knowledge of machine safety standards and their application.
