Safety/Security Officer

Responsibilities

• Enforce all laws, rules, and policies authorized by the Safety and Security Department
• Perform alarm and patrol duties to protect life and property against theft, vandalism, and fire
• Conduct physical inspections and security checks of grounds and facilities
• Investigate incidents and provide accurate reports
• Control disturbances and assist staff in de-escalating situations
• Provide vehicle transportation support and perform routine vehicle inspections on GSA fleet
• Issue visitor passes and temporary vehicle permits
• Maintain accurate security logs, vehicle logs, and student accountability records
• Search program participants and others entering the center for contraband
• Supervise program participants in isolation
• Foster a safe environment free from harassment and intimidation

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• One year of related experience
• Experience working with youth
• Valid driver's license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record
