About the role

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and administer the company’s Workers’ Compensation Program, including reviewing and processing claims.
  • Serve as a technical resource for employees regarding Workers' Compensation laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Interface with physicians, attorneys, and management to ensure quality care and appropriate return-to-work processes.
  • Maintain workers’ compensation files, accident reports, OSHA logs, and other required state and federal records.
  • Lead the SAFE Council to promote health and safety initiatives across the organization.
  • Support safety functions including inspections, ergonomic evaluations, and the implementation of safety programs.
  • Track and analyze safety metrics, trends, and leading indicators to prevent injuries and illness.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with specific expertise in Microsoft Access.
  • Strong analytical abilities to track safety metrics and trends.
  • Proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Excellent public speaking skills and the ability to present to large groups.
  • Ability to communicate with tact, diplomacy, and assertiveness in stressful situations.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health, Business, or a related field.
  • Previous experience with Workers’ Compensation benefit systems.
  • Prior experience in occupational safety and health functions.
