Safety Technician

Responsibilities

• Comply with safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and regulations
• Assist in accident investigations to identify causes and prevent future occurrences
• Inspect workplace environments, equipment, and practices to ensure compliance with safety and government standards
• Conduct safety training, education programs, and new employee orientations
• Assist in the coordination of respiratory, hearing conservation, HazComm, and confined space programs
• Inspect specified areas for fire prevention equipment, safety equipment, and first aid supplies
• Conduct facility inspections and audits
• Maintain training databases and assist with regulatory training such as forklift or respiratory training
• Provide first aid care when needed

Requirements

• High School Graduate or GED required
• 1+ years of relevant experience
• Basic computer skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or technical school
• OSHA training or certification
