Safety Specialist/Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead safety processes ensuring safe engineering and operating practices
• Manage compliance with state and federal MSHA regulations
• Ensure accurate reporting of Health, Safety, and Environmental incidents
• Act as the primary point of contact for MSHA and regulatory personnel during inspections
• Conduct MSHA Annual Refresher Training and New Miner Training
• Oversee incident and accident investigations and provide documentation
• Partner with Managers and Supervisors to achieve health and safety goals
• Assist Human Resources with Workers Comp and health-related issues
• Support the enforcement of the Company’s Drug & Alcohol Policy

Requirements

• 1+ years of progressive safety experience in chemical, industrial, refining, mining, or heavy construction
• Deep knowledge of OSHA and MSHA regulations
• Proven track record of building proactive safety cultures
• Excellent communication, leadership, and influencing skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Surface mining experience
• Specific training or education regarding MSHA regulations and processes
