About the role
Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and provide leadership for Argo Safety Programs and site security activities
- Develop and deliver safety training, including Permit training, LOTO, and New Employee Safety Orientation
- Review incident investigations, participate in root cause analysis, and ensure corrective action follow-up
- Direct the plant security program, including access control and physical security of plant assets
- Coordinate monthly contractor safety meetings and manage shutdown activities regarding contractor entry
- Lead plant-wide emergency drills and participate in safety audits and mock-OSHA inspections
- Maintain MSDS libraries, emergency action plan manuals, and contractor safety files
- Compile monthly safety reports for corporate and distribute safety event alerts to employees
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in occupational safety or equivalent industrial experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Experience with OSHA recordkeeping requirements and regulations
- Ability to obtain and maintain OSHA 10-hour and OSHA 30-hour Train the Trainer certifications
- Strong problem-solving skills for conducting root cause analyses
- Ability to perform essential physical functions including walking, bending, lifting, and climbing
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in CPR, First Aid/AED, and Bloodborne pathogen responder
- Familiarity with internal accident investigation processes
- General understanding of Workers' Compensation
