About the role

Responsibilities

  • Maintain corporate health and safety programs to ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations
  • Develop and implement injury prevention strategies and safety awareness initiatives
  • Review incident and inspection reports and initiate follow-up actions to mitigate workplace risks
  • Monitor occupational health and safety data, including injury statistics and KPIs
  • Update and maintain occupational health and safety databases such as MSDS Online and Parklane
  • Facilitate occupational health and safety training programs
  • Lead the Respiratory Protection Program, including respirator fit testing and training
  • Lead the WSIB Health and Safety Excellence Program
  • Coordinate and conduct incident investigations and hazard assessments

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Kinesiology, or Life Sciences
  • 3-5 years of experience in health and safety management
  • Thorough knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation, standards, and guidelines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
  • Understanding of workflow process analysis, incident investigation, and risk management
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Registered Safety Professional (CRSP)
  • Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
  • Working knowledge of WSIB and WSIB Safety Excellence Program
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting
