Safety Specialist

Responsibilities

• Support DHL's policies and procedures regarding health and safety regulations.
• Respond to injury and accident notifications and conduct investigations to determine root causes and preventative measures.
• Administer safety reporting and maintain detailed records of incidents and corrective actions.
• Analyze safety data and trends to identify areas for improvement and present statistics to the leadership team.
• Facilitate safety training, including new employee orientation and monthly safety sessions.
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards in accordance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards.
• Perform risk assessments and recommend corrective actions to mitigate identified risks.
• Identify at-risk behaviors and conditions and collaborate with Operations Leadership to implement corrections.
• Promote a strong DHL safety culture through participation in safety committees and initiatives.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a safety specialist or analyst role, preferably within a warehouse or logistics environment.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and standards.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in using safety management software and tools.
• Ability to work onsite at the Miami Hub.
• Fluency in English; bilingual Spanish speaking is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional certification in safety management.
• Basic knowledge of DHL workplace safety and health risks or transportation operations experience.
