Safety Specialist

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Conduct environmental, health, and safety audits through formal assessments and frequent plant tours.
• Perform incident investigations, including root cause analysis and hazard identification.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs, such as new hire, annual compliance, and forklift training.
• Support safety culture by facilitating committee meetings, focus groups, and toolbox talks.
• Assist with environmental testing, including air and noise sampling.

Requirements

• 3 years of industrial safety experience.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations including OSHA, NFPA, and ANSI.
• Proven experience developing, writing, and maintaining training manuals and aids.
• Proficient PC skills, including the ability to create presentations and manage spreadsheets/graphs.
• Ability to work various shifts and respond to emergencies 24/7.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in both group and individual settings.

Preferred Qualifications

• OSHA 30-hour certification.
