Safety Specialist

Responsibilities

• Investigate cases involving trauma, personal harm, or brand risk
• Manage safety concerns including personal threats, domestic violence, and human trafficking
• Implement emergency plans and communicate them sensitively to individuals in need
• De-escalate crises and manage high-emotion situations using trauma-informed methodology
• Document investigations through comprehensive written reports and summaries
• Monitor flagged content and identify trends in online risk
• Collaborate with Safety Leads to develop and enhance internal policies and tools

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience in customer experience, mediation, social work, psychology, or emergency services
• Fluent Japanese and English (spoken and written)
• University Degree and/or 3+ years of relevant experience
• Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills
• Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality
• High emotional intelligence and ability to work under pressure

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in advocacy or crisis management
• Humanitarian work experience
• Experience working with populations who have experienced trauma
