Safety Specialist 1

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development, review, and communication of the Site Specific Safety Plan (SSSP) to all personnel and subcontractors
• Collaborate daily with field craft to encourage ownership and buy-in of the safety program
• Exercise Stop Work Responsibility to ensure adherence to company policies, regulations, and work plans
• Plan and problem-solve with field operations based on leading indicator trends and upcoming work
• Complete daily documented hazard inspections and assist with the implementation of corrective actions
• Maintain project files in compliance with OSHA/MSHA regulations, including accident and injury files
• Assist with first aid and maintain relationships with emergency medical services and clinics
• Provide safety training on policies, procedures, OSHA/MSHA, and client-specific requirements

Requirements

• 0-2 years of construction safety experience
• OSHA 30 certification
• First Aid/CPR certification
• Ability to travel and relocate as required for project assignments
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in various climates and environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or a related field
• Certification as a Safety Professional or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
• Knowledge of current Federal and OSHA requirements
