Safety Services Officer

Responsibilities

• Provide campus security and respond to service calls with urgency
• Initiate emergency responses and notify appropriate authorities or directors as necessary
• Perform dispatching duties, including covering breaks and shifts for dispatchers
• Conduct thorough facility checks, including locking and unlocking buildings
• Document incidents through detailed written reports and follow-up interviews
• Maintain departmental equipment, offices, and departmental vehicles
• Patrol campus on foot and respond to medical, fire, or disturbance calls

Requirements

• High School Graduate
• Valid Ohio driver’s license
• Ability to operate departmental vehicles safely
• Basic computer skills and ability to use departmental radios and phones
• Strong writing skills for creating incident reports
• Ability to function effectively in stressful situations and extreme weather
• Physical ability to patrol on foot and climb at least 10 floors of stairs

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in military, police, EMS, or security roles
• Basic mechanical skills
