Safety & Security Officer

Responsibilities

• Perform routine security patrols and investigate reported or self-initiated complaints
• Prepare detailed reports on all incidents, including criminal complaints, fire alarms, injuries, and accidents
• Respond to emergency situations, assist with building evacuations, and provide medical aid or transportation to medical resources
• Enforce college regulations and manage on-campus parking and traffic control
• Lock and unlock campus buildings and operate department vehicles, including campus shuttles
• Provide security escorts to students, faculty, and staff upon request
• Assist with the supervision of student workers and shuttle drivers during assigned shifts

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Criminal Justice or equivalent professional experience
• Valid driver’s license with no significant convictions
• Valid NYS Security Guard license (Fisher will cover expenses for obtaining this if you are not currently licensed)
• Good physical condition, including the ability to walk, hear, and see clearly
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice
• Prior experience in law enforcement
