About the role
Responsibilities
- Conduct relief system analysis including safety relief reviews, flare studies, and change management activities for PSVs, PVVs, and blowdown systems
- Participate in global capital project development deliverables regarding relief system design through various project stages
- Oversee and validate the technical integrity of on-site safety relief assessments
- Design effective and cost-efficient mitigation strategies to enhance safety and manage overpressure risks
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, partners, and contractors to support manufacturing sites and assets
- Identify and develop opportunities to improve work processes, practices, and technical tools
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering specialty
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Process Design or Safety Relief
- Strong knowledge of industrial codes and standards including API 520, API 521, API 526, API 2000, and ASME Sec 8
- Proven experience performing overpressure and flare analysis
- Hands-on proficiency with Pro II, HYSYS, or similar process simulation tools
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical thinking skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-cultural global team
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to manage workloads under time pressure and changing priorities
- Working knowledge of data infrastructure, pipelines, and data integration processes
- Appreciation for data science and machine learning applications as they relate to engineering data requirements
