Safety Officer

Responsibilities

• Provide safety and welfare for students and staff at all HCZ buildings
• Conduct general risk assessments to identify dangerous situations or activities
• Monitor student activity in hallways and intervene to prevent inappropriate behavior
• Secure premises through patrols, surveillance monitoring, and building inspections
• Guard entry points and verify visitors to maintain site security
• Maintain order and ensure compliance with the school code of conduct and policies
• Maintain incident records and present written descriptive reports for major incidents

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid and up-to-date New York State Security license
• Valid 8-hour and 16-hour Security certificates
• Experience requiring keen observation, vigilance, and situational awareness
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work morning, evening, night, and weekend shifts
• Physical characteristics suitable for security duties and patrolling
