Safety Officer

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the Center’s Occupational Safety and Health Plan
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the Safety Program
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOL, Job Corps, and PRH requirements
• Conduct weekly, quarterly, and periodic occupational safety and health inspections
• Investigate accidents, injuries, and safety incidents and prepare detailed reports
• Provide safety orientation and training to employees and students
• Facilitate monthly Safety Committee meetings

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, or a related field
• Minimum of two years of experience in occupational safety or risk management
• Current CPR/First Aid Certification
• Valid Puerto Rico Driver’s License (Category 4) with a satisfactory driving record
• Current Puerto Rico Act 300 (Ley 300) Certification
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience conducting incident investigations and regulatory compliance programs
• OSHA certifications or related professional safety certifications
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
