About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop, coordinate, and execute company-wide and project-specific safety programs
- Enforce compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws and regulations
- Conduct safety inspections and lead incident investigations using root cause analysis
- Create and implement safety incentive programs to reward targeted behaviors
- Provide safety and health training to employees, subcontractors, and vendors
- Research construction sites to identify potential hazards such as ventilation, lighting, and terrain
- Develop site-specific emergency evacuation plans and response protocols
- Build productive working relationships with clients to ensure safety needs are met
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of construction safety experience
- Experience overseeing large-scale commercial or industrial projects
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local safety laws and regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams)
- Ability to travel extensively to multiple project locations
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work at elevations exceeding 30 feet
- Willingness to obtain OSHA 500 and First Aid certification within the first month
- Ability to work in various outdoor weather conditions and construction environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health or a related field
- Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish)
- Experience with Hammertech or Smartsheet
