Safety Manager

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular audits of flatbed load securement and evaluate equipment for safety gaps
• Maintain and audit Driver Qualification files, HOS logs, and drug/alcohol testing pools
• Lead onboarding, orientation, and continuous safety training for asset drivers
• Investigate accidents, road citations, and worker’s compensation claims using root-cause analysis
• Review DOT roadside inspection reports and file DataQs challenges
• Organize and lead quarterly safety meetings
• Utilize ELD and telematics systems like Samsara or Motive to monitor driving events
• Review DriveCam video data for driver coaching

Requirements

• Deep knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA regulations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook)
• Experience with ELD, telematics, and FMCSA portals
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays
• Strong communication skills for interacting with drivers and executives

Preferred Qualifications

• Four year degree from an accredited college or university
• 1-3 years of transportation experience
• 2+ years experience in a safety related position in flatbed transportation
