About the role
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all pertinent OSHA, EPA and OBE requirements, programs, and regulations
- Maintain company’s database and all other safety and environmental-related records
- Oversee, evaluate, and continuously improve facility safety initiatives to build a strong safety culture
- Support the annual Safety Plan development
- Coordinate required safety documentation including JSAs, Machine Guarding & PPE Assessments, and New Equipment Evaluations
- Review and ensure proper updating and compliance of Facility Written Programs such as LOTO, PIT, and Hazcom
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in safety, environment, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Minimum 5 years of safety experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret governmental safety and environmental regulations (e.g., OSHA)
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Confidence to lead meetings and coach peers and leaders
