About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive safety strategy aligned with project and company goals for large-scale heavy civil infrastructure projects.
- Manage project environmental health and safety programs, driving a proactive safety-oriented culture.
- Conduct high-level safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify and correct potential hazards.
- Direct incident investigations and oversee the development of corrective action plans.
- Lead and mentor a team of safety professionals.
- Coordinate and present safety training, including new hire orientation, fall protection, and confined space entry.
- Interface with OSHA officials and inspectors during site visits.
- Provide executive-level reports on safety performance and metrics to senior management.
Requirements
- 10+ years of safety management experience within the self-perform construction industry.
- Proven experience managing safety for large-scale projects with a scope exceeding $250M.
- Extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations and relevant safety standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification.
- Experience in heavy civil markets including power, water, roadway, bridge, aviation, or rail/transit.
