Safety Management System Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the enterprise Safety Management System (SMS) in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Lead and facilitate Safety Risk Management (SRM) activities, including hazard analyses, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies.
• Implement and monitor Safety Assurance (SA) activities to identify new hazards and track corrective actions.
• Prepare for FAA Oversight of the Safety Management System.
• Monitor and analyze safety performance metrics and prepare reports for senior leadership.
• Design and deliver safety training programs to enhance safety culture across the organization.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for safety inquiries, internal audits, and regulatory interactions.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or a related technical field.
• 2+ years of experience in systems, mechanical, electrical, or software engineering.
• Experience with Safety Management Systems (SMS).
• Level 3: 5+ years of related work experience.
• Level 4: 9+ years of related work experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with experience collaborating on multi-discipline teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Product & Services Safety.
• Experience working with sensitivity and/or risk analysis models.
• Demonstrated ability to work directly with executives or senior leaders.
