About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead Safety Compliance and Culture at the Kilbourn facility, driving manufacturing performance through the World Class Manufacturing framework.
- Develop and implement local Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) strategies to reduce injuries, illnesses, and environmental impact.
- Monitor site legal compliance and ensure adherence to local, national, and Unilever regulatory standards.
- Drive safety and environmental risk assessments, including Process Safety Management (PSM).
- Lead accident/incident investigations and manage follow-up actions to ensure completion.
- Develop and deploy internal SHE auditing and inspection systems.
- Conduct trend analysis from incidents, near misses, and compliance audits to drive continuous improvement.
- Support environmental impact reduction goals regarding waste, emissions, water, and energy consumption.
Requirements
- University degree in Science, Engineering, or equivalent industrial experience.
- Qualifications required by local regulatory authorities.
- Proven track record in analytical thinking and project management.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and process improvement methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience in people management and influencing stakeholders.
- Proficiency in auditing and observation skills.
- Excellent mathematical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to support a 24/5 facility.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in a factory-based role related to Process Improvement, Safety, Health, or Environmental management.
- At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory role with direct reports.
- Advanced degree in Occupational Health & Safety or Environmental Sustainability.
