Responsibilities

  • Support facilities management teams in meeting statutory health and safety obligations and KPIs, including fire safety, asbestos, gas, electrical safety, legionella, and building safety
  • Work closely with surveying, engineering, and property teams to ensure compliance across residential and commercial assets
  • Lead and manage HSE audits, inspections, and compliance monitoring programmes
  • Investigate incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventative measures
  • Ensure remedial actions are identified, prioritised, and delivered promptly
  • Support the implementation of Health & Safety Policy, Standards, and ISO 45001-aligned management systems
  • Maintain accurate compliance records using digital asset and risk management platforms
  • Develop and update policies, procedures, and guidance to reflect regulatory best practice
  • Build strong working relationships with contractors, tenants, service partners, and enforcement bodies
  • Provide professional out-of-hours support for critical safety incidents when required
  • Travel across the portfolio to support sites and gain insight into operational risks

Requirements

  • Recognised professional qualification in health and safety (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma Level 6, NVQ Level 4+, or Degree/MSc in Occupational Health & Safety)
  • Strong working knowledge of UK health and safety legislation, including fire safety, CDM, and building safety
  • Practical experience delivering H&S in a facilities management or property environment
  • Experience with audits, inspections, risk assessments, and investigations
  • Ability to influence at all levels and work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
  • Proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong organisational skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • NEBOSH Fire Safety qualification
  • Environmental management systems experience
